APPLE COFFEE CAKE

Ingredients:

3           apples chopped into 1/2-inch chunks

1/2 cup     butter or margarine

1-1/2 cups  sugar

2           eggs

1 cup       milk

3 cups      all-purpose flour

1 tsp       salt

3 tsp       baking powder

 

Crumb Mixture:

--------------

1/2 cup  flour

1/2 cup  sugar

1 tsp    cinnamon

Dash     nutmeg

1/4 cup  butter or margarine

 

Instructions:

Cream butter and sugar together.  Add eggs and milk.  Sift dry

ingredients together.  Stir into creamed mixture.  Stir in about 1/2 of

the chopped apple chunks.  Pour batter into greased 9-by-13-inch pan.

Top with remaining chopped apples.  Sprinkle crumb mixture evenly over

top.  Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.

 

For Crumb Mixture: Mix flour, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg together.  Cut

butter into above mixture until crumbly.
