Ginger bread sleigh
                                     
                                    1/3 c. shortening                            
                                    1 c. packed brown sugar
                                    11/2 cup molasses                          
                                    2/3 c. water
                                    6 c. flour                                           
                                    2 tsp. baking powder
                                    1 tsp. salt                                          
                                    1 tsp. ground allspice
                                    1 tsp. ginger                                     
                                    1 tsp. cloves
                                    1 tsp. cinnamon
                                     
                                    In large bowl cream shortening, sugar, molasses together stir in water.  mix
                                    dry ingredients together; add gradually to creamed mix; gather together into ball, wrap well chill at least 1 hour; roll dough
                                    out very thick; at least ¼ inch. 
                                    using the pattern for sleigh or men .  for sleigh cut out five pieces,
                                    2 sides 1 bottom, one front, one back.  place pieces on a lightly floured cookie
                                    sheet.  bake in oven 350 degrees for about15-20 minutes.  good when no finger print.  cool slightly; carefully remove
                                    from pan; on a piece of tinfoil center base; with icing paste sides and front and back; 
                                    makes 1 large 2 small and some men.
                                     
                                    Decorator Icing
                                     
                                    keep covered with wet cloth when not using it hardens quickly.
                                     
                                    3 egg whites             
                                    ½ tsp. cream of tartar                     
                                    4 c. icing sugar
                                     
                                    in medium mixing bowl, beat egg whites with cream of tartar until frothy.  
                                    gradually add icing sugar until
                                    frosting is thick enough to hold it's shape when spoon is drawn through; may not need all sugar.
