Vegetable Sticks
1. 12 cucumbers cut in 2½ inch sticks &
¼ cup salt. Cover with cold water, let stand 3 hrs. Drain & rinse.
2. 6 carrots peeled, cut in 2½ inch sticks.
Cook in boiling salt water for 2 minutes.
3. 2 green peppers & 2 red peppers &
2 large onions—strips thinly sliced.
4. Sauce 2 c. white vinegar, 2 c. white sugar,
1 tbsp. Mustard seed,1 tbsp. Celery seed, 1 tsp. Turmeric, 2 tsp. Salt
Method
In large pot combine vinegar, sugar, mustard
seeds, celery seed, turmeric, & salt. Bring to boil.
Add prepared vegetables. Return to full boil.
Remove from heat & pack in jars.
Be sure to cover with liquids.
