Hometown Grilled
Cheese
Yields: 4 sandwiches
· 8 slices (1/4 pound) Colby cheese
· 3/4 pound sliced deli roast beef
· 8 slices potato bread
· 2 tablespoons prepared horseradish sauce
· 1/2 cup packaged French-fried onions
· 8 slices (1/4 pound) Swiss cheese
· 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter, softened
1. Distribute the Colby cheese and roast beef
equally over 4 slices of bread. Spread horseradish sauce over the roast beef and sprinkle with French-fried onions. Place
the Swiss cheese over the onions, then top with the remaining 4 slices of bread.
2. Spread the butter evenly over the top and
bottom of each sandwich.
3. Preheat a large skillet or griddle over
medium heat. Cook sandwiches, in batches if necessary, for 2 to 3 minutes per side, or until golden and the cheeses are melted.
Serve immediately
