Tea Cake

 

1 qt. milk                                           5 c. flour

1 yeast cake raised for 1 hour

 

beat 1 egg and 4 tbsp. butter, 1 ½ c. sugar together and add 5 c. flour, 3 tsp. salt, raisins, and peel.  raise till double.

 

make into tea biscuit raise till double.  cook in moderate oven for 1 hour.  brush with sugar and water.
