Mint Julep

 

Enjoy this refreshing drink throughout the entire summer.

Makes 2-4

 

1/4 cup Mint,

fresh 2 cups Water

2 cups Sugar,

granulated 1 1/2 ounces Bourbon (per drink)

Cracked ice Place the water in a medium saucepan.

 

Whisk in the sugar until dissolved.

Heat until just hot.

Remove from the heat.

Mix in the mint leaves and allow to steep for 15-20 minutes.

Strain. Allow to cool.

Fill a tall drink glass with cracked ice.

Add the bourbon. Top off with the mint syrup.

Stir gently.

The traditional Kentucky Derby garnish is a fresh mint leaf

and two short straws. –
