Chocolate Fudge (easy)


chill time: 1 hour
makes 5 lbs

4 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 1/2 cups evaporated milk
1/3 cup butter
1/2 tsp. salt
4 cups miniature marshmallows
2 pkgs (12 oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Lightly grease a 9 x 13 inch pan.

In a large, heavy saucepan, combine the sugar, evaporated milk, butter and salt.  Cook over medium heat, stirring, until smooth.  Bring the mixture to a boil.  Remove from heat and add the marshmallows and chocolate chips, walnuts, and vanilla.  Stir constantly until the marshmallows are melted.

Pour into the prepared pan and chill about 1 hour, or until set.  Cut into square
